Jamie Foxx Disputes Woman’s Alleged 2015 Sexual Assault Incident

A lawsuit filed by a woman known as Jane Doe alleges that actor, singer, and comedian Jamie Foxx sexually assaulted her at a rooftop bar in New York in 2015. However, Foxx has denied the incident, stating that it “never happened.”

The lawsuit, filed in state Supreme Court in Manhattan, claims that Foxx rubbed the woman’s breasts and groped her under her pants without her consent.

According to the suit, the woman and her friend were seated at a table next to Foxx’s at Catch NYC in 2015. After asking Foxx for a photo, the two women took several pictures with him. The suit alleges that he then began complimenting the woman’s “super model body” and told her she looked like the actor Gabrielle Union.

He then allegedly took her to a secluded area where he touched her inappropriately, despite her attempts to pull away. When the woman’s friend found them, the alleged assault stopped, and they walked away.

A representative for Foxx released a statement in response, asserting that the alleged incident never occurred. The statement also mentioned a previous lawsuit filed in 2020 in Brooklyn, which was dismissed. They expressed confidence that the current claims will also be dismissed and indicated Foxx’s intention to pursue a claim for malicious prosecution against the person and her attorneys.

The woman is seeking damages, with the amount to be determined at trial, according to the suit.

This lawsuit was one of many filed under a temporary New York law, the Adult Survivors Act, which allowed adult victims to sue over alleged sexual attacks that would have previously been outside the statute of limitations. The law expired after Thursday.

The Associated Press does not typically name people who say they have been sexually abused unless they come forward publicly.
