Nikki Haley and Jamie Dimon Discuss Economic Issues in Private Meeting

According to a report, JP Morgan Chase CEO Jamie Dimon believes that Republican presidential candidate Nikki Haley has the potential to unite the country and boost the economy.

A banking source told Axios that the banking executive has engaged in several private conversations with Ms. Haley, indicating a growing enthusiasm for the former U.N. ambassador.

The source stated that Mr. Dimon admires Ms. Haley’s understanding of the economy and the potential for collaboration between business and government to foster economic growth.

Ms. Haley, who pursued accounting in her education, has previously emphasized the need for an accountant in the White House.

During a GOP presidential debate in August, she expressed, “I think it’s time for an accountant in the White House,” and urged Republicans to “stop the spending, stop the borrowing.”

The former South Carolina governor, Ms. Haley, has experienced a gradual increase in her poll standings and currently holds the second-place position in certain surveys. Mr. Dimon’s support could potentially enhance her backing as the number of GOP candidates decreases.

Recent polling from Iowa indicated former President Donald Trump in the lead with 43%, while Ms. Haley and Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis were tied for second with 16% in an NBC News/Des Moines Register/Mediacom poll.

The GOP field is narrowing, as South Carolina Gov. Tim Scott announced the suspension of his campaign on Fox News shortly after participating in the third debate.

newstodayalert has reached out to Ms. Haley’s campaign for comment.
