Trump Criticizes Liberal Jews in Post for Jewish New Year

Former President Donald Trump wants “liberal Jews who voted to destroy America & Israel” to “make better choices moving forward” as they celebrated the last day of their Jewish New Year celebrations.

“Just a quick reminder for liberal Jews who voted to destroy America & Israel because you believed in false narratives!” the photo, posted on his Truth Social account, read. “Let’s hope you learned from your mistake & make better choices moving forward! Happy New Year!”

The photo that Mr. Trump posted Sunday fell on the last day of Rosh Hashanah and outlined the pro-Israel initiatives he took while he was president, including moving the American Embassy in Israel from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem, recognizing Israel’s sovereignty over the Golan Heights territory and settlements in Judea and Samaria.

“Wake Up Sheep,” it read before the list of initiatives. “What Nazi/Anti Semite ever did this for Jewish people or Israel?”

It also talked about the former president’s executive order that made Judaism a nationality in addition to being a religion, and his support for a “Never Again” education bill that mandated more money to be spent on expanding Holocaust curriculum.

“Clearly, one of the greatest Anti Semites of our time!” The post concluded with hashtags “#TRUMP2020” and “#JEXIT.”

JEXIT, which stands for Jews Exiting the Democrat Party, was created in 2018 to “help educate and encourage Jews to understand and be fully cognizant of the fact that the Democrat party had abandoned them and Israel,” according to its website.

In 2022, Mr. Trump called himself “the best ally” of the Jewish people, but some of his actions have led people to call him an antisemite. In November 2022, he had dinner with Holocaust denier and white supremacist Nick Fuentes, along with rapper Kanye West, who changed his name to Ye, and has shared antisemitic discourse.

He has also criticized Jewish leaders for lacking “loyalty” to their “greatest friends and allies” which caused them to lose support in Congress.

Alyssa Farah Griffin, former White House communications director during the Trump administration, called the post “disgraceful.”

“Confirmed: this is a real post on Trump’s Truth Social. Waaaake up, @GOP,” she wrote on X, formerly Twitter. “This is disgraceful.”
